Gürsel Tekin, whose trusteeship at the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency ended by court order, made statements before a badge-pinning ceremony held at the Provincial Presidency.
Tekin stated that he has remained "outside of active politics" since 2018, noting that during this period, they traveled the field by bus to explain the CHP and prepared reports on topics such as deep poverty, drugs, and missing children.
Touching upon the debates within the party, Tekin drew attention to the discussions regarding the CHP being associated with court processes, noting the talk that "the Republican People's Party has fallen into the courts." Tekin stated that they possess the documents regarding the process and that he had previously announced this.
When asked if there had been any discussions regarding the appointment of a provincial president, Tekin said that the court decision would most likely be served to them on Monday morning.
We are already in contact with the headquarters management and the chairman. We do not have any problems. In the coming days, our party's chairman and the headquarters will make their decision regarding a restructuring.
Tekin's statements came at a time when debates continue regarding the new restructuring and appointment process in the party following the end of the trusteeship at the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency.
