Hakan Fidan holds talks with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as part of his intensive diplomatic contacts. During the meeting, important regional and global issues such as the latest situation in Syria, developments in Ukraine, and energy security were discussed.

INTENSIVE DIPLOMACY BEGAN IN RIYADH

Hakan Fidan, who met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas, and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in Riyadh, also held bilateral talks with the Foreign Minister of the interim Syrian administration, Esaad Hasan al-Shaibani.

It was reported that the phone call with Lavrov covered the current developments in Syria, as well as energy security and the situation in Ukraine in a comprehensive manner. While underlining the close cooperation between Turkey and Russia, the importance of efforts to ensure stability in the region was emphasized.
