Harsh reaction from Rifat Serdaroğlu to Bahçeli: 'He is an agent of the global gang, they should be tried in a Court-Martial'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statement that 'The President should have two deputies; one of Kurdish origin, one of Alevi origin' has caused harsh reactions in the political arena. Doğru Party Chairman Rifat Serdaroğlu was among the leading figures to respond most sharply to this statement.

In his statement, Serdaroğlu accused Bahçeli of being 'an agent of the global gang'and claimed that he is trying to liquidate the Turkish nation-state. Describing Bahçeli's proposal as 'an attempt to divide Turkey on ethnic and sectarian grounds,' Serdaroğlu also declared the silent MHP deputies and organizations as 'accomplices to treason.'

'Bahçeli's efforts to establish an ummah-based structure instead of the Turkish Nation-State are a clear act of treason. Everyone who does not see this and remains silent in the face of this treason is an accomplice. The place where they should be tried is not the Supreme Court, but a Court-Martial,' said Serdaroğlu, arguing that Bahçeli's statement is a direct attack on the values of the Republic.

'THE FIRST THREE ARTICLES OF THE CONSTITUTION CANNOT BE TAMPERED WITH'

Serdaroğlu stated that Bahçeli's words are incompatible with the first three articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and that this proposal is contrary to the principle of 'one nation.' 'No one should attempt to govern this nation by dividing it into ethnic or sectarian identities. The Republic is closed to such divisions,' he said.

'THE SILENCE OF THE MHP WILL BE NOTED IN HISTORY'

Emphasizing that the silence of MHP organizations on this issue creates a historical responsibility, Serdaroğlu stated, 'No politician who is loyally attached to Turkishness can remain silent in the face of these divisive discourses. Silence is complicity in a crime.'
