He caused the death of 105 people in the earthquake! MHP member sentenced to 21 years in prison visited Bahçeli

Former MHP Osmaniye Mayor Kadir Kara, who was sentenced to 21 years in prison in the case regarding the Bilge Site, where 105 people lost their lives and 6 were injured in Osmaniye during the February 6 earthquakes, visited Devlet Bahçeli.

Reports in the local press stated, "Former Osmaniye Mayor Kadir Kara visited MHP leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Devlet Bahçeli at his office to convey his get-well wishes. Dr. Devlet Bahçeli thanked him for his kind visit."

HE IS HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF 105 PEOPLE

A verdict was reached on January 8, 2025, in the trial of 8 people regarding the collapse of the Bilge Site, where 105 people lost their lives and 6 were injured in the Maraş-centered February 6 earthquakes in Osmaniye.

The final hearing was held in the Osmaniye 1st High Criminal Court for the case in which former MHP Osmaniye Mayor Kadir Kara, who was the Zoning Director in 1995 when the building was constructed, and directorate employees Sevinç Ayşe Argun, Hülya İ., and Mustafa N. were being tried without arrest for the crime of 'causing the death or injury of more than one person through conscious negligence'.

Announcing its verdict after the defenses, the court panel sentenced the defendant tried without arrest, former Osmaniye Mayor Kadir Kara, to 21 years in prison.

The lawyers for Kara, Argun, and Koç, who were arrested on January 8, filed an objection to the Osmaniye 2nd High Criminal Court. Evaluating the objections on January 10, the court panel decided to release the detained defendants on the grounds that 'there was no suspicion of the defendants fleeing or tampering with evidence', 'the nature and character of the crime charged', 'their secondary fault regarding the attributed crime', and 'the fact that the expected benefit from the arrest could be achieved through other judicial control measures'.
