With only a few days left until the local elections, mayoral candidates have been declaring their assets one after another.

Following the initial declaration of assets by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş, all eyes turned to the People's Alliance candidate Turgut Altınok.

After responding to a question about his assets during a live broadcast by saying, "Property is not ours, it belongs to God; it all belongs to God, we are just trustees," Altınok declared his real estate holdings on his social media account. The list of assets declared by Altınok did not include items such as vehicles, cash, or jewelry.

In Istanbul, one of the cities where the election results are most anticipated, no candidate other than the CHP's candidate, incumbent IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, has declared their assets.

Although the AKP and MHP candidate Murat Kurum declared his assets during a live broadcast, he did not submit a written declaration.

ONGUN'S REACTION TO KURUM

Following the declaration of assets by mayoral candidates, Murat Ongun, advisor to IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, reacted to Murat Kurum.

"HE CANNOT EXPLAIN HIS 4-ITEM ASSET LIST"

In a post on his social media account, Ongun stated, "The ambitious candidates for the capital Ankara have also declared their assets. The only candidate in Istanbul who has declared his assets is still IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. There are 15 days left until the election. Those who have 2 houses, 1 car, and some debt still cannot explain their 4-item asset list."

WHAT DID KURUM SAY ABOUT HIS ASSETS?

Murat Kurum, who said, "We have no problem declaring our assets," had stated the following:

"We have a house in Ankara. We have a house in Istanbul. We have 1 car. We also have some debt. That is our asset status. We have debt for the house because we bought a house. We will pay off the debt for another 2 years. We have an apartment in Ümitköy, Ankara, and we have an apartment here (in Istanbul) in Kağıthane..."
