The allegation raised by the detained Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek in his third statement within the scope of effective remorse has sparked a new debate in CHP circles. Böcek claimed that he heard that Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal had "paid money" during the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidacy process.

Uysal, in a statement on his social media account, categorically denied the allegation. Stating that the claims that he "paid money," "would pay money," or was "involved in some kind of bargaining" during the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidacy process are completely untrue, Uysal announced that he would take the matter to the judiciary.

"As of today, I will file a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against all real and legal persons who spread these slanders in the press and on social media by citing the statement of the Antalya Metropolitan Mayor, which is based on false hearsay and not supported by any concrete information or documents. I will follow the legal process to the end."

In his statement, Uysal also touched upon his political background, recalling that he was among the founders of his party in 1992, served as the provincial youth branch president in 1996, and as the provincial president in 2001. Uysal stated that throughout his political life, he has never viewed any office, duty, or candidacy as a position that could be obtained in exchange for money.

It had previously come to the agenda that Uysal, known for his closeness to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, visited Kılıçdaroğlu following the court's "absolute nullity" decision. Kılıçdaroğlu's frequent emphasis on "purification" in his recent statements has also brought the reflections of the debate within the party to the agenda following Böcek's statement.
