IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener's request led to the resignation of İbrahim Özkan from his post as IMM Group Deputy Chairman, but he has since been re-elected to the position.
Following this development, IYI Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Yücel Coşkun announced that the IMM Council Members who re-elected İbrahim Özkan, who had resigned from his post, as Group Deputy Chairman have been referred to the disciplinary board with a demand for "permanent expulsion."

According to the report in Cumhuriyet, when asked about the referral of the resigned IMM IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman İbrahim Özkan and some council members to the disciplinary board with a demand for permanent expulsion, İmamoğlu replied, "I do not comment on processes taking place within another party."
