Following this development, IYI Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Yücel Coşkun announced that the IMM Council Members who re-elected İbrahim Özkan, who had resigned from his post, as Group Deputy Chairman have been referred to the disciplinary board with a demand for "permanent expulsion."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who attended the World Metro Summit Opening Session, answered questions from journalists as he was leaving.

According to the report in Cumhuriyet, when asked about the referral of the resigned IMM IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman İbrahim Özkan and some council members to the disciplinary board with a demand for permanent expulsion, İmamoğlu replied, "I do not comment on processes taking place within another party."
