Tuğrul Türkeş, son of MHP founding leader Alparslan Türkeş and an AKP Ankara MP, shared a holiday message on social media addressed to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

In his message, Türkeş thanked Bahçeli while also issuing a notable warning.

Welcoming Bahçeli's tradition of visiting Alparslan Türkeş's grave every holiday, Türkeş said, "May God be pleased with him." However, he criticized Bahçeli for using the term "founding leader" for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan at the graveside of Türkeş.

Stating that this expression could lead to public misunderstandings, Türkeş said, "This expression can be said anywhere, but it must never be uttered in one place: at my father's graveside." Reminding that terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has a "terrorist" record finalized by the Turkish judiciary, Türkeş stated that he felt compelled to point out that the use of such expressions is inappropriate, out of a sense of conscience and historical responsibility.
