He had threatened with 'reverse handcuffs': Erdoğan's Chief Advisor takes a step back

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor, Saadet Oruç, threatened Mehmet Şerif Güran with "reverse handcuffs" during a chat room session she joined on the X platform. Oruç reacted to Güran over insults he made on the anniversary of Narin Güran's death, stating, "If I don't have you taken in with reverse handcuffs tomorrow, then I am not Saadet."

APOLOGY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT

Following the threat, Saadet Oruç took a step back today and apologized. In a statement on social media, Oruç noted that she has felt a conscientious responsibility for the past year to see the Narin Güran murder case solved, and said the incident caused her to succumb to her anger.

Oruç's statement was as follows:

"For the last year, I have considered myself responsible, as a mother and a citizen, for the clarification of the Narin Güran murder and for finding the killers of an innocent child. The murder of a tiny child falls on my heart like a burning coal every night! Because of this responsible and conscientious stance, dozens of slanders and insults have been directed at me for about 6 months, and I have displayed a patient attitude that seeks its rights before the law against these unlawful and unfair accusations until today."

"I RESPONDED WITH AN ATTITUDE THAT DOES NOT BEFIT ME"

Saadet Oruç stated that in a message she shared on the anniversary of Narin Güran's death, she used the phrase, "the feudal lords who buried you at the bottom of that creek are already at the bottom of that creek." Stating that she was then insulted by a family member with terms such as "bitch, your lineage is unknown," Oruç admitted that she succumbed to her anger and responded with "an attitude that does not befit me."

"I APOLOGIZE"

Oruç apologized via social media, using the following expressions:

"It was the breaking point of a process that has been continuing systematically for months, during which I have been silently seeking my rights before the judiciary. I apologize to the entire public for my words that do not befit me. I will continue to resort to legal channels against the systematic insults, slanders, and threats directed at me."
