'He will answer to the nation' remarks spark tension: MHP's Semih Yalçın lashes out at Dervişoğlu

The "My First Duty" themed rally, called for by İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu on July 29, was held at Bursa Osmangazi Square on August 3. While there was high participation in the rally, a phrase used by Dervişoğlu during his speech increased political tension.

Responding from the podium to a citizen in the crowd who shouted "Bahçeli resign!", Dervişoğlu said, "His time will come. He will answer to the nation!"

Dervişoğlu's statements were met with a reaction from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) front. MHP Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Prof. Dr. Semih Yalçın lashed out at Dervişoğlu with harsh expressions in a statement he made on the social media platform X.

Semih Yalçın, who began his message by saying, "Be smart!", included the following statements:

The İP comrade of the CHP's six-party table partners has found the remedy in opposing the MHP to save himself from the winds of corruption he has been swept into.

İP Manager Müsavat Dervişoğlu is striving to prove his existence with all his incompetence, recklessness, arrogance, and rudeness. He has once again overstepped his bounds, been insolent, and talked about holding our chairman accountable.

Dervişoğlu insists on completely closing the doors of political dialogue with a furious tone and an uncompromising understanding.

As if these were not enough, Dervişoğlu is doing his best to keep his party away from legislative work, which is the fundamental function of the parliament he entered under the umbrella of the CHP in the past.

Mr. Müsavat is practically saying, "I do not want to contribute to legislative work in any way with my token party. My stubbornness is my stubbornness!"

Mr. Müsavat is also opposing a "Terror-Free Turkey," wanting the blood to flow and the caravans of martyrs to continue.

Because in a "Terror-Free Turkey," there will be no other issues left for marginal parties and small groups like the İP to exploit.

As if not knowing the wisdom of being in the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) were not enough, Dervişoğlu is also adopting an impudent and arrogant attitude towards his political rivals.

In particular, the indigestible attitude displayed by Mr. Müsavat, who once infiltrated our ranks by chance and engaged in closed-circuit activities, regarding our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, does not escape attention.

We strongly reject the violent, disrespectful, and low-level attitude the İP Manager has adopted against our Chairman.

Our advice to him is this; Mr. Müsavat, be smart!!! You cannot pass judgment on Turkish nationalism; your political and intellectual background is not sufficient for this.

We advise Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who looks like a nightclub bouncer, to take lessons from someone who knows in order to learn political etiquette, or if his intelligence and manners are not enough, to leave the job to those who are competent immediately."
