HKP Kadıköy candidate Attorney Pınar Akbina: We will establish the people's power with love!

Kadıköy is one of the districts where there is curiosity regarding the elections. In the district currently governed by the CHP, CHP candidate Kösedağı and TKP candidate Maçoğlu stand out. There are also other candidates who have been working in Kadıköy for a long time. One of the prominent figures among these candidates is Attorney Pınar Akbina Karaman, the Halkın Kurtuluş Partisi (HKP) candidate for Kadıköy.

In her assessment to 12punto, Pınar Akbina said, "As the HKP, we support the CHP in places where the AKP and CHP are in a neck-and-neck race. We did not field a candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) elections; we are supporting Ekrem İmamoğlu. Of course, we have criticisms of the CHP, but our priority is for the 'AKP-ites'—the disaster of the century—to go."

Pointing out that Kadıköy is one of the most enlightened districts in Turkey, Akbina stated, "We became candidates here to make our revolutionary voice heard. To get rid of the 'AKP-ites'—the disaster of the century—to put an end to rent-seeking, profiteering, and theft as if cutting with a knife, and for municipalities managed by the people themselves through an organized public, vote for HKP."

Akbina continued as follows:

'WE ARE THE PARTY THAT NOMINATES THE MOST WOMEN AND YOUNG CANDIDATES'

"We are conducting a very modest election campaign. We do not receive Treasury aid. Our members consist of working people, and we are running our campaign with their donations. We are among the parties that nominate the most women and young candidates in Turkey. We are all carrying out these efforts voluntarily in the time remaining from our jobs.

I am a lawyer. I am also fighting for workers' rights, women's rights, children's rights, and animal rights.

We are a party that has filed nearly 600 criminal complaints to date against those involved in corruption, rent-seeking, and profiteering, and against massacres of nature and the environment. We have lawsuits and criminal complaints on many issues, including secularism and the handing over of our islands in the Aegean.

We are the intellectual sons and daughters of Dr. Hikmet Kıvılcımlı, the commander of the Kuva-yı Milliye in Köyceğiz, who dedicated his life to the revolutionary struggle. We come from the same tradition. Our current Chairman, Nurullah Efe, is fighting just as fearlessly. He has a sentence of 12 years, 8 months, and 10 days for insulting President Erdoğan. He is facing a total of 47 years in prison. He was attacked because of his love for animals and nature, and he is currently under house arrest for giving them the response they deserved. However, he continues to convey his messages to citizens through videos he publishes on social media."

Our struggle is not limited to the election. It is not a solution on its own. Our struggle will continue after this as well. The people must be organized. It cannot be done just by voting. What happens to us is due to our lack of organization... We will change this order together with our people. We will establish the true power of the people.
