Horse meat and bones found in trash container
Horse meat and bones were found inside a trash container in Düzce. Inspections have been launched at businesses selling meat in the area.
Upon notification by local shopkeepers who saw pieces of meat and bone inside a trash container in the Aziziye neighborhood, teams from the Provincial Police Department and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry were dispatched to the area.
Examinations conducted by veterinarians determined that the remains belonged to a horse.
Police teams have begun reviewing security cameras in the vicinity to identify who left the meat and bone fragments in the container.
Meanwhile, officials from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry have initiated inspections of supply chains and markets that sell meat in the region.
