With 24 days remaining until the local elections, the number of voters in Istanbul has been determined.

NUMBER OF VOTERS AND BALLOT BOXES ANNOUNCED

According to information obtained from the Istanbul Provincial Election Board, 11 million 314 thousand 516 people will head to the polls this year in the city, which hosts 80 of the 1094 district election boards across Turkey.

In these elections, 33 thousand 228 of the domestic ballot boxes will be placed in schools across Istanbul.

36 THOUSAND FEWER VOTERS

In Istanbul, where 11 million 350 thousand 971 people voted in the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary General Elections held on May 14 last year, the number of voters for these elections has decreased by 36 thousand 455.

FEWEST VOTERS IN ADALAR, MOST VOTERS IN ESENYURT

In Istanbul, 13 thousand 682 people will cast their votes in Adalar, which has the fewest voters, while 642 thousand 455 people will head to the polls in Esenyurt, which has the highest number of voters. Four district election boards will serve in Esenyurt and Bağcılar, among the city's most populous districts.

Judge Ramazan Seçkin of the Istanbul 15th Civil Court of First Instance, who was determined by lottery last year, will chair the Provincial Election Board located at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

Özlem Aktaş, President of the Istanbul 1st Commercial Court, and Hamza Emre, Judge of the Istanbul 7th Labor Court, will continue as members of the board.

ISTANBUL'S NEIGHBORHOOD WITH 8 VOTERS

In these elections, Sarıdemir in the Eminönü district of Fatih, one of Istanbul's most frequented places where thousands of people step every day, has become the neighborhood where the fewest voters will head to the polls in the city.

The neighborhood, which is crowded with visitors during the day and generally contains workplaces, turns into silence at night. In this election, only 8 voters will cast their ballots in Sarıdemir Neighborhood.
