HÜDA PAR's Yılmaz targets the first article of the Constitution: Calls Kemalism a 'perversion'

Halef Yılmaz, a deputy for HÜDA PAR's Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, who attended the Malazgirt celebrations alongside the Air and Naval Force Commanders as well as President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, used scandalous language.

According to a report by Tarık Işık from Sözcü, HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman Halef Yılmaz, who harshly criticized Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş for stating that the first four articles of the Constitution cannot be debated, said, "The issue is not the technical and scientific progress of the West, but the purification of the Constitution from the Kemalist mentality that imitates its perversion and false culture." 

Yılmaz made the following statement:

"The issue is much more important and greater than the first four articles. The issue should not be about making arrangements consisting of formal changes. The issue is to end the mistake of deifying individuals and a false ideology that has collapsed upon this nation through imposition and deception, and to purify the Constitution from the Kemalist mentality, which has been trying to make the nation a voluntary slave to the West for a century and which imitates not the technical and scientific progress of the West, but its perversion and false culture."

'NOT THE WORD OF GOD'

"The issue is the correction of all wrongs that cause hostility toward our nation's religion, Islam, under the name of secularism. Will exempting the first four articles from this solve the issue? Where will the view that the impositions of the September 12 coup plotters are sacred and untouchable—as if they were revelation or the word of God—be placed from the perspective of reason, faith, and science? Otherwise, what will be corrected? What will be new? What will it be a remedy for?"

DEMAND FOR A SECOND LANGUAGE

HÜDA PAR's party program includes the statement: "The acceptance of the current structure as a taboo should be abandoned, and governance models such as the state system, autonomy, and federation should be freely discussed with all their positive and negative aspects." Furthermore, it states: "The characterization that everyone bound to the Republic of Turkey by citizenship is Turkish should be abandoned, the existence of Kurds should be constitutionally recognized, and Turks and Kurds should be accepted as the primary founding peoples of the country. - Kurdish should be accepted as a second official language alongside Turkish, and Kurdish should also be a language of instruction."
