HÜDA PAR Spokesperson targets the Republic: 'The national will shall bury this mentality'

HÜDA PAR Spokesperson and Batman MP Serkan Ramanlı spoke at a panel titled "I Choose My Mother Tongue" held in Diyarbakır the other day, which focused on the elective mother tongue courses taught in schools. 

"BECAUSE WE ARE BOTH KURDISH AND MUSLIM"

In his speech there, Ramanlı said the following:

"One of the peoples that those who staged a coup 100 years ago turned against the state were the Kurds. Their goal was to erase Islam from the region. They showed hostility because we are both Kurdish and Muslim." 

EMPHASIS ON NATIONAL WILL

According to the report by Aytunç Ürkmez from Cumhuriyet, Eğitim-İş Union President Kadem Özbay, who reacted to Ramanlı, stated, "During the AKP era, they want to raise a religious, conservative generation that adopts a culture of submission. The national will shall bury this mentality. This will be done by those who live their religion sincerely and by people who find the honor of being Kurdish in the freedom of being a citizen."
