İmamoğlu responds to Akşener's 'war' declaration: 'Attacking İmamoğlu must be the trend of the era'

The tension between the IYI Party and the CHP is increasing day by day.

IYI Party leader Meral Akşener had used harsh language, claiming that an operation was being conducted against her party.

Pointing to the negotiations İbrahim Özkan conducted with the CHP, Akşener targeted the CHP with the words, "This means interfering in the internal affairs of a political party. As of now, I accept this as a declaration of war. I am ready, let them come. I am well-trained for this." 

Responding to Akşener, İmamoğlu had said, "Our friends are being played; they are being provoked against us. Our caravan is very large. Do you know what its name is? The Istanbul Alliance."

"THEY WERE AFRAID AND DID NOT ACCEPT"

In another statement, Akşener had said, "I went to Saraçhane for the second time in the same way. Those who are cursing today took things as far as my late mother back then. But I did not open my mouth until we won. I took them to that table, and I was kicked out of the table. But both of them (Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş) were afraid and did not accept the will of the nation."

"ATTACKING EKREM İMAMOĞLU MUST BE THE TREND OF THIS ERA"

Finally, IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu used notable expressions in his statement today.

İmamoğlu stated the following:

"The vast majority of the criticisms directed at us consist of fabricated political labels. Attacking the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and its mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu, must be the trend of this era. So be it, we see this trend. We will show on March 31 that this trend has passed. They cannot get work done. They rely on the mind of a single person. I don't know who that is, but they rely on the words coming out from between their lips. We, on the other hand, rely on 16 million people. We will continue to be the true and sincere representatives of the nation. Let others continue to do their work with the orders of that one person."
