İmamoğlu said 'He owes me for meatballs': The shop where Erdoğan ate meatballs years ago has been revealed
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had stated that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had eaten meatballs at his restaurant years ago and that he did not take payment. A photograph of the restaurant in question has emerged years later.
A user named Bireysel on the social media platform X (Twitter) shared photos from the childhood and youth years of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
One frame among the photos in question did not go unnoticed.
Participating in the Mevzular Açık Mikrofon program, İmamoğlu had revealed for the first time a memory from years ago involving AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
İmamoğlu had said, "I am a person who hosted Mr. Erdoğan in my restaurant during his first months as mayor. I was 23-24 years old. He ate meatballs in my restaurant and I didn't take his money. He will never be able to pay that debt in his lifetime."
Following this memory recounted by İmamoğlu, a photograph of the meatball shop in question has emerged.
While these photos of İmamoğlu's youth were being shared on social media, it was seen that a photo of the shop in question was also included.
