IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat hospitalized again
The health condition of IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, who was hospitalized due to cardiovascular issues and resistant hypertension, is being closely monitored. Polat, who is under house arrest, had previously been released for the same reasons.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Secretary General Dr. Mahir Polat has been hospitalized again due to ongoing health issues. It was learned that Polat was admitted to Şişli Memorial Hospital after his cardiovascular complaints and resistant hypertension worsened.
HOUSE ARREST HAD BEEN ORDERED
Mahir Polat, who was detained alongside IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu during an operation targeting the IMM on March 19 and arrested on March 23, was released on Wednesday, April 9, under house arrest due to serious health problems.
The fact that he was kept in prison for days despite suffering from high blood pressure and heart conditions during his detention had sparked significant public outcry. Following the backlash, the court decided to place Polat under house arrest.
After his release, Mahir Polat continued his treatment at the healthcare facilities where he had previously been followed; he was hospitalized again on April 14 and discharged shortly thereafter.
