An important development has occurred regarding the primary election that the CHP will hold to determine its presidential candidate. CHP Deputy Chairman Gül Çiftçi announced in a post on her social media account that citizens who are not party members will also be able to vote in the primary election to be held on March 23.
In her statement, Çiftçi used the following expressions:
"In the primary election we will hold on Sunday, March 23, 2025, all our members who come to our party, our 'father's hearth,' by 17:00 on Saturday, March 22, as well as all our citizens who come to the ballot box on election day, will be able to vote.
We will share all the information regarding the 'Solidarity Ballot Box' that we will establish for our citizens who are not members of our party but want to say stop to this coup attempt with the public as of tomorrow morning. Our primary election process will go down in history as the greatest day of solidarity and unity our political history has ever seen. We will grow our struggle together to defend democracy against the coup; we will destroy this darkness and we will definitely establish the people's power.”
