Important pre-election message from Özgür Özel: Today, the 'Turkey Alliance' is competing against the state
Speaking in İzmir, CHP leader Özgür Özel said, "Whenever the state has competed against the nation, the nation has won. Today, the 'Turkey Alliance' is competing against the state."
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made significant statements in İzmir ahead of the local elections.
"We will achieve a great victory tomorrow," said Özel, adding, "We are very hopeful. We will achieve the success we had in the past with large alliances through the conscience of the voters and the 'Turkey Alliance.' Democracy is not about someone constantly winning for themselves and their cronies, while workers and retirees are left to struggle. If I or any of my candidates have hurt even one person's heart, we apologize. On April 1, Turkish democracy will step into a very important day."
"THE 'TURKEY ALLIANCE' IS COMPETING AGAINST THE STATE"
Reacting to the use of state resources in favor of AKP candidates during the election campaign, Özel continued his remarks as follows:
"As long as there is an understanding that views one party as the state, you cannot speak of a fair election environment. All the resources of the state have been mobilized for one party. Ministers who were said not to engage in politics have involved themselves in politics. Everywhere in Turkey, our candidates have fought with their own inherent strength. Whenever the state has competed against the nation, the nation has won. Today, the 'Turkey Alliance' is competing against the state."
