Imrali claim stirs political circles: Was Ocalan allowed to meet with Mazlum Abdi? The 'You didn't understand me' outburst
The claim that Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, and Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the organization's Syrian wing, the SDF, were allowed to meet at Imrali in March has created a stir. According to the claim, which appeared in a Northern Iraq-based publication, Ocalan used harsh language toward Mazlum Abdi and Ilham Ahmed during the meeting.
Striking information has emerged regarding an alleged meeting between the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Ocalan, and the leader of the SDF, Mazlum Abdi. In a report by the Northern Iraq-based outlet Darka Mazi, known for its proximity to the Barzani family, it was claimed that Mazlum Abdi and Ilham Ahmed were taken to Imrali in March to meet with Ocalan.
According to the claim, the process took place during a period when mutual expectations between the parties were ongoing.
THE "SPECIAL CHANNEL" CLAIM
According to the allegations in the report, SDF leader Mazlum Abdi traveled to Sulaymaniyah on January 24 and held meetings with the Talabani brothers and the US Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack.
It was further claimed that Abdi, who allegedly then crossed into Rojava, was taken to Imrali from there via a special channel established through Turkey.
OCALAN'S "YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ME" OUTBURST
According to the claim reported by Darka Mazi, Abdullah Ocalan delivered harsh messages to both Mazlum Abdi and Ilham Ahmed during the meeting.
The report alleges that Ocalan used the phrase "You didn't understand me" toward the two individuals, and reportedly said the following to Ilham Ahmed:
"I have reached an agreement with the state here. If it weren't for me, you would have either been captured like the girls in Aleppo or you would have thrown yourself from a building. I saved you."
HE GAVE MAZLUM ABDI THE TASK OF "INTEGRATION"
In the same report, it was claimed that the terrorist organization leader Abdullah Ocalan directed criticisms at Mazlum Abdi regarding past processes and tasked him with "achieving integration."
According to the claim in the report, Ocalan used the following expressions toward Abdi:
"You were going to establish a state under Israeli control, but it didn't happen; look, you had to return to me again. Now, for the mistakes of the past, I am tasking you with achieving integration. At least be worthy of it this time, and succeed."
BACK ON THE AGENDA WITH CLAIMS OF CONTACTS WITH TURKEY
On the other hand, it was also noted that SDF leader Mazlum Abdi stated in a recent interview with journalist Amberin Zaman that contacts with Turkey are ongoing.
According to the report, Abdi indicated that preparations were being made for a possible visit to Ankara, and stated that he could meet with Abdullah Ocalan within the scope of this visit.
