Investigation launched into CHP council member
An investigation has been launched in Afyonkarahisar regarding allegations that CHP municipal council member Mustafa Kadem accepted a bag full of money. Kadem stated that he will file a lawsuit against these claims.
Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı announced that a judicial investigation has been launched following the circulation of footage on social media involving CHP Municipal Council Member Mustafa Kadem.
Speaking at a press conference held at the governor's office, Yiğitbaşı stated, "Such allegations are being examined by judicial authorities. Legal processes have been initiated."
Regarding the footage circulating on social media, Mustafa Kadem said, "I do not know by whom or for what purpose the video shared about me was filmed. I will file a lawsuit against this smear campaign regarding my business dealings in the shops I operate."
CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District Chair Murat Albayrak responded to the allegations made by the AKP Provincial Presidency, stating, "It is clear that these allegations have no connection to the municipality and that Kadem is not a member of the Zoning Commission. This is a deliberate smear campaign." Albayrak stated that the AKP is attempting to shift its own mistakes onto the CHP-led municipality and that the people of Afyonkarahisar do not believe such rhetoric.
