Turkey is mourning the death of school principal İbrahim Oktugan, who was brutally murdered by an Iraqi high school student. While education unions have been voicing their reactions to the incident one after another, politicians continue to express their own reactions as well.

7th CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a post on his social media account X, reacting to the government.

Kılıçdaroğlu used the following expressions:

''In this country, which they disparaged by calling it the old Turkey, there was previously a quality to education. Teachers had respect from both students and parents.

All schools belonged to the state and all students had equal educational opportunities.

No one knew who was a rich child and who was a poor child…

And now;

Tens of thousands of our brilliant young teachers who cannot be appointed because they lack connections, who question their country and life, and who have become withdrawn...

Our dear teachers who cannot provide education as they wish due to the mobbing they are subjected to, and who are not even taken into account by principals, parents, or even students…

You are going through difficult times, that is true.

But do not let your bright hearts darken. Never give up on your struggle, I am with you.

I wish God's mercy upon teacher İbrahim Oktugan, who paid with his life for the price of Turkish Republic citizenship sold off at a fire sale, and I extend my condolences to his loved ones and our education community.''
