Is a new wave of migration coming to Turkey? Statement on Syria from Minister Fidan

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made important statements regarding the current agenda during a panel he attended at the TRT World Forum.

Touching upon the ongoing tension in Aleppo, Syria, Minister Fidan stated that Turkey is not a party to this process, saying, "Turkey is not involved in the clashes taking place in Aleppo."

'WE DO NOT WANT A NEW WAVE OF MIGRATION'

Emphasizing that Turkey has taken the necessary precautions at the Syrian border, Minister Fidan expressed his sensitivity regarding the migration crisis. Fidan said, "We will not engage in any action that would trigger a new wave of migration."

NUCLEAR WAR WARNING

Drawing attention to the global arms race, Minister Fidan stated that the situation in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions has reached a dangerous point for the world. He warned, "Armament could leave the world facing the danger of nuclear war."

Also touching upon the Israel-Palestine issue, Fidan held Israel's illegal occupations responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Fidan stated, "The root cause of the Gaza crisis is Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian lands. A lasting peace is not possible without justice based on a two-state solution."

Minister Fidan also stated that they support the arrest warrant issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, adding, "We are following the process for the punishment of genocide criminals."
