Is Instagram being unblocked? Statement on Instagram from AKP's Yalçın
AKP Deputy Chairman Hasan Basri Yalçın made statements regarding the access ban imposed on Instagram during a live broadcast he attended.
The crisis surrounding the access ban imposed on the social media platform Instagram, which is stated to have over 50 million users in Turkey, has been ongoing for days.
Speaking on a live broadcast on CNN Türk, AKP Deputy Chairman Hasan Basri Yalçın stated that they expect the ban on Instagram to be lifted in a short time.
'THERE IS POSITIVE PROGRESS'
Providing information about the meetings held with company officials, Yalçın said, "Positive progress is being made. They do not want to give up their lawless areas. I think the negotiations will conclude positively, that they will commit to complying with the rules, and that it will therefore be opened in a short time."
'OUR EXPECTATION IS VERY CLEAR'
Regarding when the access ban will be lifted, Yalçın said, “We do not believe it will take long. Our expectation is very clear. We know that it can be opened in a very short time within the framework of them making various statements and putting forward commitments that they will comply with Turkey's rules. I do not believe the process will be prolonged.”
