It turns out Hasan Bitmez had explained the B plan for the Saadet-Gelecek Group!
The Saadet-Gelecek parliamentary group has dissolved following the death of Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez. For the group to be re-established, at least one deputy must join the Gelecek Party or the Saadet Party. It has emerged that the late Bitmez had stated two months ago that they had a B plan in place for such a scenario.
Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez, who was taken under treatment after falling ill at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, has passed away in the hospital. With the death of Bitmez, the Saadet Party group, which was represented by 20 deputies in Parliament, has dissolved.
According to the law, at least 20 deputies are required to form a parliamentary group.
HASAN BİTMEZ HAD EXPLAINED THE B PLAN
According to a report by Talha Özmen from Odatv, Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez gave clues about the move to be made in the event of a possible group dissolution during a district council meeting he attended approximately two months ago.
Following the meeting, party members asked Bitmez during a conversation, “What will happen if a deputy changes parties and the group dissolves?”
In response to the question, Hasan Bitmez replied, “We also have a B plan.”
Indicating that they were in talks with deputies from other parties, Bitmez said, “We are in talks with some deputies. Our numbers may increase. Time will tell…”
DEMOCRAT PARTY CLAIM
The Saadet and Gelecek parties are preparing to hold talks with the Democrat Party first.
It is being discussed in the lobbies that, as a result of the meetings expected to take place in the coming days, Democrat Party deputies might join the Saadet-Gelecek group, making it the third-largest party. The response the Democrat Party will give to a potential offer is not yet known.
