It was claimed he would form a new party: Names close to Koray Aydın in IYI Party speak out
Following allegations that IYI Party Ankara Deputy Koray Aydın would resign and form a new party, names close to Aydın have spoken out. It was stated that if Aydın were to resign from the IYI Party, he would "continue his political life as an independent deputy and would not form a new party."
Waters are not calming down in the IYI Party, which went to an extraordinary congress after the March 31 Local Elections.
It was claimed that IYI Party Founders' Board Member and Ankara Deputy Koray Aydın, who lost against Müsavat Dervişoğlu in the congress in April, might announce his decision to resign as a result of meetings he will hold after the holiday.
Aydın had expressed his discomfort with the meeting that the party's former leader Meral Akşener held with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Palace, and had called on Akşener to make a statement. Receiving no response to his call, Aydın did not attend any of the party's programs.
According to Selda Güneysu from Cumhuriyet, Aydın's inner circle states that if he resigns, he will continue his political life as an independent deputy and will not form a new party. Aydın's departure from the party could lead to the departure of names close to him as well, and this situation could cause further fractures in the internal dynamics of the IYI Party.
