İYİ Party Head of Economic Policies Bilge Yılmaz has responded to claims that he would be his party's candidate for Istanbul with only days remaining until the local elections.
Speaking to Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, Bilge Yılmaz said, "I am not thinking of doing such a thing. I may have some popularity among the public, but that does not necessarily mean I should be a mayoral candidate. I do not want to be a candidate, and my decision is final."
Stating that he vacated the house he rented in Ankara after the election and moved some of his clothes to his office at the party, Yılmaz explained that he moved his clothes to the USA because this was not a permanent solution.
Yılmaz expressed that he had criticisms regarding İYİ Party leader Akşener's decisions, starting from her departure from and return to the Table of Six during the March 3-6 process, to her decisions both before and after the election, as well as the decision to enter the local elections 'independently'.
Yılmaz stated that he continues his duties within the party and has not made a decision to resign.
