İYİ Party calls for a joint declaration 'against terrorism'
İYİ Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu announced that the party has submitted a request to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to issue a joint declaration in order to once again demonstrate national unity against terrorism and its supporters.
In a statement on his social media account, Zorlu recalled that there were martyrs and wounded as a result of the treacherous terrorist attack carried out by the PKK terrorist organization in the Operation Claw-Lock region.
Stating that in this context, Chairwoman Meral Akşener spoke by phone with AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan to share their determination and sensitivity regarding the fight against terrorism, Zorlu noted the following:
"In this context, our request for the publication of a joint declaration text has been submitted to the Speaker of the TBMM by our Group Deputy Chairman, Mr. Müsavat Dervişoğlu, in order to once again demonstrate our national unity against terrorism and its supporters.
Furthermore, in line with the decision of our Chairwoman, Ms. Meral Akşener, as the İYİ Party Group, we have requested that a general debate be opened on this matter in accordance with Article 98 of the Constitution and Articles 102 and 103 of the Rules of Procedure of the TBMM, and that the Ministers of National Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs inform our Assembly regarding this process and the latest situation.
Our primary goal will be to continue the most effective fight against terrorist organizations in every field. With eternal gratitude and mercy to our martyrs."
