İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener speaks in Trabzon: 'Let me show everyone how to conduct opposition until 2028'

Traveling to Trabzon to attend various programs, İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener visited shopkeepers in the Şalpazarı district and chatted with citizens.

During a visit to a business, Akşener encountered Yeniden Refah Party District Chair Ali Yazıcı, wished him well for the elections, and spoke about her memories with Necmettin Erbakan.

"OUR PARTY WAS FOUNDED TO DESTROY THE POLARIZATION SYSTEM"

Later moving on to the Beşikdüzü district, Akşener stated in her address to the public that they are trying to be the voice of the people, saying, "Our party was founded to destroy this polarization system where politics is conducted so comfortably. Our party was founded to be your voice. We have done our best to make this voice heard.

Now, in 2023, you as voters said to me, 'Hey Meral Akşener and members of the İYİ Party, we have made you the opposition, you will be right before our eyes, we are following you.' What is the duty you gave? To be the advocate of the people, that is, to be your voice, to continue being your voice," she said.

"TO THE ALLIANCE SYSTEM BROUGHT BY THIS FREAK SYSTEM..."

Stating that they have done what was required of them within the framework of the duty given to them by the people, Akşener continued her words as follows:

"However, because we were forced into the alliance system brought by this freak system for a while, we also joined one of these alliance systems so that the voters could establish a balance, so that those who oppose this system could gain strength, feel power, and have hope. We saw the shortcomings in 2018, and then while heading into 2019. Your fellow townsman Koray Aydın is in front of me, he came to me and said, 'Sister,' he said, 'This voter is in a hopeless state, meaning they feel that there is an insufficiency in terms of changing this freak system.' Therefore, I said, 'What shall we do, brother?'

"WE CHOSE TURKEY"

He said, 'Let us go to the Republican People's Party (CHP), let us propose a partnership, an alliance, including for the municipalities.' Look, those across from us didn't think of it, your fellow townsman thought of it. I personally made the appointment. He went to Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu, met with him, and God is my witness that when it was a question of 'Turkey or the İYİ Party?', we chose Turkey. As a result, Istanbul and Ankara were won."

"THIS SYSTEM IS A CROOKED SYSTEM"

Saying that she was not speaking to disparage anyone, Akşener said, "Heading into 2023, you wanted these two friends of ours. Central Anatolia wanted Mr. Mansur, and these regions, the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Marmara regions, wanted Mr. İmamoğlu. As a result, one way or another, the issue is not hostility or friendship toward Tayyip Erdoğan. The crookedness of this system, this system is a crooked system, this system is a system that ignores you. As a result, we could not change this system."

"THE VOTER SHOULD ALSO BE A BENEFACTOR FOR THE POLITICIAN"

Noting that they have decided to return to their founding philosophy, Akşener said, "What is this? To be your voice, to prioritize being the voice of only you, the villager, the shopkeeper, the teacher who cannot be appointed, the children eliminated in interviews, the women subjected to violence, the prosperity of the country, and of course the people who are troubled, as a free and independent party within this polarized system. Let competition be based on service, let competition be based on projects. Just as the customer is a benefactor for you, the voter should also be a benefactor for the politician."

"SEE HOW OPPOSITION IS CONDUCTED"

Criticizing retirement pensions, İYİ Party leader Akşener said, "I say to Erdoğan, 'If you make the retiree comfortable, you can get their votes.', we have nothing to say to that. They turn around and say, 'Akşener is asking for votes for Erdoğan.' What does that have to do with anything, my brother? I am your voice, let him do it, you do what is necessary or you don't, that doesn't concern me, but if he doesn't do it, I am a candidate for your votes. Take my hand and watch, see how opposition is conducted until 2028, let me show everyone."

Following her speech, Akşener visited shopkeepers and asked for votes for her mayoral candidates.
