İYİ Party Chairman Dervişoğlu makes statement on CHP and Mansur Yavaş
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made notable remarks regarding the "softening" steps in politics. Dervişoğlu also made a statement concerning Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
Dervişoğlu spoke to TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik. Evaluating the normalization steps in politics, Dervişoğlu emphasized that the step toward normalization must be taken by the government.
Reminding opposition parties, primarily the CHP, of the 'strengthened parliamentary system' transition program they signed at the Table of Six, Dervişoğlu stated, "We feel a responsibility to stand behind the signature we placed in the past.
I believe that the current system is also a burden on Erdoğan. There is a parliamentary system that the opposition demands. If the government takes a step in this direction, the opposition cannot stand against it," he said.
COMMENTED ON THE SINAN ATEŞ MURDER
Making statements regarding the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş, Dervişoğlu said, "The MHP cannot view the loss of Sinan Ateş as mere collateral damage.
The funeral of an Ülkü Ocakları Chairman lies in the middle of all this.
Therefore, it is the duty of Turkish nationalists to expose and reveal whoever has dirty hands and fingers in this matter," he said.
"THIS MATTER WILL NOT REMAIN HIDDEN"
Arguing that there is no evidence in the indictment regarding the motive for the murder, Dervişoğlu stated, "Everyone knows everything; this matter will not remain hidden."
Calling on MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, Müsavat Dervişoğlu said, "I am not in a position to give advice to Mr. Bahçeli, but I know his temperament on certain issues.
If there are people he considers responsible for this, or even if he just has such a feeling, the moral responsibility not only for the living but also for those who have passed into eternity is absolutely upon him," he said.
"I UNDERSTAND MANSUR YAVAŞ"
Dervişoğlu also touched upon the rift that formed between the İYİ Party and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş before the March 31 local elections. "From the perspective I look at his resentment within the conditions of that period, I understand him," he said. Dervişoğlu stated that they would avoid initiatives that could cause rifts moving forward.
