The İYİ Party General Administrative Board (GİK) has rejected the CHP's proposal for cooperation in the local elections by a majority vote.

The İYİ Party General Board voted on the CHP's cooperation proposal. In the closed-ballot vote, the party decided to enter the local elections independently with 35 votes against 14.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ŞÜKRÜ KULEYİN

İYİ Party Head of Corporate Relations Şükrü Kuleyin announced the decision on his social media account before the official press release.

Kuleyin stated, "May God not let us be ashamed. We are participating in the elections free and independent."

PRESS STATEMENT EXPECTED

According to this result, the İYİ Party will enter the elections with its own candidates. İYİ Party Spokesperson and Head of Media Relations Prof. Dr. Kürşad Zorlu is expected to hold a press conference at the party headquarters at 19:30.

COOPERATION PROPOSAL

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had proposed cooperation in the local elections to İYİ Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener on Friday, November 30. The İYİ Party discussed the decision to field candidates in all 81 provinces during the GİK meeting held on Monday, December 4, chaired by Meral Akşener.
