İYİ Party Istanbul Mayoral Candidate Kavuncu warns against 'election lies'

İYİ Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) mayoral candidate Buğra Kavuncu stated that traffic in Istanbul is a nightmare, saying, "Look at what has happened to traffic in the last 5 years. The average time we spend in traffic has risen to 288 hours, which is over 10 days. You are sacrificing 10 days of your life to the streets of Istanbul every year."

Continuing his election campaign in Pendik, Kavuncu first visited the Pendik Auto Industrial Site. Meeting with the Industrial Site President Ethem Aksoy there, Kavuncu listened to the problems of the tradespeople.

In response to Aksoy's request for the opening of apprentice schools, Kavuncu replied, "We commit to opening apprenticeship schools with the support of the municipality and the cooperation of the industry." After the meeting, Kavuncu toured the industrial site and asked the tradespeople to vote for him in the election.

KAVUNCU'S WARNING AGAINST ELECTION LIES

Kavuncu later attended an iftar program organized by his party's district branch at a wedding hall in the district. In his speech there, he reminded the audience that they are in the local election process and requested votes from citizens for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Asking those considering voting for him not to listen to the lie that "If you vote for Buğra Kavuncu, Murat Kurum or Ekrem İmamoğlu will win," Kavuncu claimed that citizens have been intimidated for years and squeezed between these two parties.

Kavuncu stated, "Show both parties a yellow card, or even a red card, in this election. Say, 'You are no longer the main players in Turkish politics. There is now a political party in Turkish politics that thinks of this nation and truly wants change and innovation. That is why we are voting for Süleyman Turan in Pendik and Buğra Kavuncu in the IBB.'"

Noting that the traffic problem in Istanbul cannot be solved, Kavuncu said:

"Traffic has been a nightmare in this city for 30 years. Look at what has happened to traffic in the last 5 years. The average time we spend in traffic has risen to 288 hours, which is over 10 days. You are sacrificing 10 days of your life to the streets of Istanbul every year. The parking problem is another issue.

Your average speed has dropped from 60 kilometers to 42 kilometers. It has not improved in the last 25 years, and it has gotten worse in the last 5 years. They cannot solve it; neither Murat Kurum nor Ekrem İmamoğlu can solve Istanbul's transportation problem. Istanbul's transportation problem will be solved by Süleyman Turan in Pendik and by Buğra Kavuncu in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality."

After the iftar program, Kavuncu went to a residential complex in the Yenişehir neighborhood, where he listened to the problems of the residents and explained his projects regarding earthquakes and urban transformation.
