İYİ Party IMM Council members referred to disciplinary board

İYİ Party Istanbul Provincial Chair Yücel Coşkun announced that the IMM Council members who re-elected İbrahim Özkan, who had resigned from his post, as Group Deputy Chair have been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for “permanent expulsion.”

SUAT SARI NOT REFERRED TO DISCIPLINARY BOARD

İbrahim Özkan, the IMM Group Deputy Chair who advocated for cooperation with the CHP contrary to the GİK decision in the İYİ Party, had resigned from his post upon the instruction of Chairwoman Akşener. Özkan was re-elected as Group Deputy Chair in the election held today with the votes of 7 İYİ Party Council members. The only İYİ Party member who did not vote for Özkan was Dr. Suat Sarı. Sarı had announced his candidacy for the IMM Presidency from the İYİ Party. Sarı has begun to be referred to as a 'brave man' within the party. Following the recent developments, it is being discussed that the likelihood of Sarı, who is a Transportation Expert, being announced as the IMM candidate has increased.

Coşkun's statement is as follows:

"To the attention of the public;

The resignation of our İYİ Party IMM Group Deputy Chair was requested by me personally following a meeting we held yesterday, and İbrahim Özkan resigned from his post in line with this. Despite this, it is unacceptable for some İYİ Party IMM Council members to re-elect him as Group Deputy Chair without my knowledge and contrary to established practices.

In this regard, all IMM Council members who have their signatures under this decision have been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for “permanent expulsion.”
