Strong reaction from IYI Party to TUSAŞ attack! 'This is beyond negligence, it is treason'

IYI Party's Turhan Çömez held a press conference at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Çömez condemned the terrorist attack carried out at the TUSAŞ facility in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara.

Stating that despite TUSAŞ being one of Turkey's most important institutions, security measures were not taken, Çömez said, "These terrorists are roaming within Ankara, in the districts of Ankara, and they come all the way here. Now, there is a extremely grave negligence here. In my opinion, there is a very serious situation beyond negligence. The taxi came here. Behind it is the taxi driver they killed. In the front, there are 2 terrorists with long-barreled weapons. The gendarmerie did not perform any identity checks here. How did they pass through the place where the gendarmerie was while the long-barreled weapons were inside the taxi? It is impossible for those long-barreled weapons to be hidden inside the car, it is impossible to put them under the seat. Because you see that in the videos leaked later, the door opens while the car is still stopping and they jump out with the weapons. How did they pass through here?"

'IT IS BEYOND NEGLIGENCE, IT IS TREASON'

Stating that every one of the TUSAŞ employees has duties that are extremely important, significant, and serious, Çömez said, "The killing of their staff in that massacre is announced to the whole world by the cameras of the same institution. What is the purpose of terrorism? To commit a massacre, to plant terror in the heart of society, to plant fear, and to engage in propaganda. How can the cameras of the same institution record the images of these damned murderers while they are massacring our bright young people working there with weapons in their hands, and serve them to the world? I followed the world press, all these camera footages were there, and the propaganda of this cursed organization was made to the whole world. How the Turkish engineers, Turkish technicians, and Turkish children there were massacred and killed was announced first to Turkey and then to the world by security cameras without shame or embarrassment. It is shameful. The relevant minister and other responsible parties must immediately be held accountable for this; this is absolutely unacceptable. Naturally, we have a fierce criticism against this. This is beyond negligence, it is treason," he said.

'THERE IS NO NEGOTIATION WITH TERRORISM'

Stating that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan was allowed to meet with his nephew, DEM Party Şanlıurfa MP Ömer Öcalan, Çömez said, "The great Republic of Turkey state has no legal and political power, but the murderer in Imralı, that baby killer, has legal and political power, is that so? We strongly reject this. There is no negotiation with terrorism, there is no talking with terrorism, there is no chatting with terrorism, there is no bargaining with terrorism. You do not say to a terrorist, under the high roof where the will of a nation is manifested, 'Come and talk, please.' There is no such example anywhere in the world. We will never allow this. The AKP regime must first account for what it has been doing for 22 years. If there is a terror problem in this country, why couldn't you prevent it? Why couldn't you stop this? I repeat, there is no bargaining with terrorism. When you sit at that bargaining table, other things will come your way," he said.
