İYİ Party Spokesperson and Istanbul Deputy Buğra Kavuncu reacted to the closure of the TBMM General Assembly following a quorum call. Speaking from Parliament, Kavuncu argued that the government does not want the "fund" issue to be discussed in the General Assembly.
Claiming that social media accounts and the press are being silenced, Kavuncu said, "They closed the Parliament because they do not want this fund to be discussed, and they do not want their actions, all their irregularities, and all their corruption to be seen."
Stating that the quorum call that led to the closure of the General Assembly came from government deputies, Kavuncu described this as an "unprecedented" situation. "On the day a legislative proposal they brought themselves was to be discussed, they requested a quorum call and closed the Parliament. It is unheard of," he said.
Despite this, the İYİ Party's Kavuncu stated that they would continue to speak from the parliamentary podium, noting that Samsun Deputy Erhan Usta had delivered a speech and that they were trying to announce what happened to the public via their mobile phones.
Kavuncu added, "We are facing a mentality that has become so audacious that it will prevent everything from being discussed in this institution where the will of the nation is manifested. We will fight to the end."
