İYİ Party's condition for 'cooperation' in local elections revealed!
A group within the İYİ Party, which has closed the doors to an alliance with the CHP in the local elections, anticipates that if a "change occurs" in the party following the CHP's ordinary convention to be held on November 4 and 5, cooperation in the local elections could be possible.
As the local elections approach, debates over alliances continue within the opposition wing. A group within the İYİ Party, which decided to enter the local elections with its own candidates following the May 14 and 28 elections, pointed out that "cooperation should be established within the scope of some metropolitan cities so that some municipalities managed by the opposition do not fall into the hands of the AKP."
According to the behind-the-scenes report by Selda Güneysu from Cumhuriyet; it is noted that the only possibility for this is "a change that will take place at the CHP convention, and that Akşener would only be convinced of cooperation if a change occurs."
SHOULD NOT BE RISKED
Some İYİ Party staff members make the assessment that, "The opposition needs to come together in the local elections. The chairperson is in favor of institutionalizing the party, but the address for this should not be the local elections. It should be the general elections in 2028. Local elections should not be risked. In the event of a possible change in the CHP, the leaders of both parties could come together again in the local elections."
