İYİ Party's Istanbul candidate Buğra Kavuncu begins election campaign: 'Our only focus is Istanbul'

İYİ Party's Istanbul candidate Buğra Kavuncu has begun his election campaign.

Kavuncu answered questions from members of the press after performing prayers at Fatih Mosque.

Kavuncu stated the following:

"WE WILL HAVE NO FOCUS OTHER THAN ISTANBUL"

"Competition in politics brings benefits to the nation. Competition in politics brings abundance and benefit to that city and that country. We set out with this understanding. We set out from Fatih. Istanbul, the city of Fatih, the city of Mustafa Kemal who said 'They will go as they came,' this is the real Istanbul. That is why we started our election campaign here by performing morning prayers. Today we will hit the field and listen to our nation. We have begun our election campaign. May it be auspicious for our Istanbul, our homeland, and our nation. We are working on our projects. I served as Istanbul Provincial Chair for 5 years. Together with my teammates, we were always in the field. There is no one else who has walked the streets and neighborhoods of Istanbul as much as I have in the last 5 years. We had the 'Tell Istanbul' project, we finished it. We started the 'Two Sides of Istanbul' project. We touched over 100 thousand people. We have very serious data collected from these projects. From Istanbul's traffic problem to parking shortages, we are knowledgeable about many issues, not just local ones but also those concerning general politics, such as uncontrolled migration and the irregular movement of refugees in our country under temporary protection. Our only focus is Istanbul, our only focus will be Istanbul. We will have no focus other than Istanbul."  

"THE RESULT WILL BE GOOD, BEAUTIFUL, AND EFFECTIVE"

Emphasizing that they aim for an election campaign that puts the nation first, Kavuncu continued his speech as follows:

"During my 6-month term as Organization Chair, we had collected a lot of information from other cities in Turkey to serve as data for our Local Governments Department. Very interesting results emerged. We encountered many problems that also brought to the surface the economic problems Turkey is experiencing today. There are very serious difficulties and demands regarding access to drinking water. I say this based on data we obtained not just from Istanbul, but from all four corners of Turkey. There is a doctor problem. There are city hospitals in many cities, but there is a serious shortage of doctors. These are general problems. We also have only one focus; Istanbul. We will focus on Istanbul, we will talk about Istanbul. We will hit the roads every morning. We will travel with our candidates in the districts. May God be our helper. May God clear our path. May the campaign period pass in peace. We will show how to conduct a campaign in a Turkey squeezed between two poles that is gentlemanly, courteous, without hitting below the belt, and that prioritizes only the public and the nation. Without attacking anyone, without badmouthing anyone, without bullying anyone, without attacking anyone's private life, we will show an election campaign where our only priority is Istanbul and the people of Istanbul. We will try to win the hearts of our nation. This is a struggle, this is an intention. Once the intention is good, the result will certainly be good as well. The magnitude of the result is of course important in politics. We set out for the happiness of our people. I am sure the result of this will also be good, beautiful, and effective."
