CHP Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made a statement regarding the Adalar Municipality acting mayor election that was scheduled to take place today. Sarı announced that the CHP did not participate in the election in accordance with a joint decision made with members of the YENİ Party.
Sharing on his social media account, Sarı stated that a simple majority could not be reached at the meeting. For this reason, he announced that the election for the acting mayor has been postponed.
According to Sarı's statement, the Adalar Municipality acting mayor election will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 10:00 AM.
With the postponement of the election, the new voting process in the municipal council will resume on Wednesday.
