Justice Party Chairman Öz warns: "İmamoğlu could lose"

Following an announcement made last Sunday by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, it was confirmed that Murat Kurum is the chosen candidate for the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) mayoral bid.

Following the announcement, poll results and commentaries regarding the election outcome began to be shared one after another.

A comment on the local elections to be held in March also came from Justice Party Chairman Vecdet Öz.

In a post on his social media account, Öz issued a warning regarding the local elections and stated, "The CHP could lose Istanbul."

THE CHP COULD LOSE ISTANBUL

The CHP, which won in 2019 with a margin of only 13 thousand 729 votes, is entering this election without the support of the Nation Alliance. This is a major handicap that significantly reduces the margin.

The People's Alliance is entering as a bloc without suffering any losses. The AKP voter is not interested in what Ekrem İmamoğlu is doing or what Murat Kurum is doing wrong; they do whatever their leader says!

I do not know from whom, how, or what advice the CHP is receiving! There is one thing I do know, and that is that they do not answer our calls and do not value the over 50 thousand votes we received in Istanbul alone in the last elections.

You will now tell me, 'Professor, you should support them anyway!' Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that! The voter does not vote when they do not see their party in a formally announced alliance, my brother.

The image of an alliance brings with it synergy votes beyond the votes of the participating parties! You should warn the CHP management, who cannot or do not want to see this, not us! Because we have done what is necessary with all our good intentions!

Unfortunately, even if we have no chance of winning, we have to participate in the election nationwide because otherwise, we would legally lose our right to participate in future elections! The same applies to other parties that the CHP needs to call! All candidates, especially CHP Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, should have known and seen this! It is impossible to understand what is being attempted.

Let no one dream! There will be great disappointment across the country, especially in Istanbul!
