Karamollaoğlu slams government over 'pensioners'

Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu was a guest on the program 'Gündem Türkiye' (Agenda Turkey) broadcast on TV5.

Evaluating the economic bottleneck, Karamollaoğlu spoke about pension salaries falling below the hunger threshold, stating, "When you came to power, a pensioner would receive a salary 1.5 times the hunger threshold; now they are forced to settle for only half of it. Such a thing is unacceptable!"

'DOES ONE'S CONSCIENCE NOT ACHE!'

Karamollaoğlu remarked, "There is a segment receiving hundreds of thousands of liras in salary, while on the other side, a pensioner with no other income is condemned to 10 thousand liras. For God's sake, does one's conscience not ache!"

Stating that "Justice has not even passed by their doorstep," the Saadet Party leader continued his words as follows:

These friends have no concern for developing the country, eliminating the citizens' cost-of-living crisis, or implementing a dignified foreign policy. They have a political understanding that acts entirely arbitrarily.

'I WILL SUPPORT WHOEVER BECOMES THE CANDIDATE'

Karamollaoğlu, who previously announced he would step down from his position as chairman, made an assessment regarding the congress, saying, "We do not want to delay the congress too much. I will be the biggest supporter of whichever friend becomes the chairman."

Criticizing President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Karamollaoğlu said, "The President says, 'I have made my decision, I do not consult with anyone.' However, democracy is built on consultation. There should be intra-party consultations and inter-party consultations."

Karamollaoğlu added the following:

If we talk to him, we express our sincere opinions. Mr. Erdoğan is uncomfortable with our sincere opinions. Because we point out his mistakes, we say this is not how things are done.

When it is mentioned as 200 liras, it looks large, but when you look at what you can buy in return, neither cheese nor oil; you cannot buy anything.

These figures are determined by order, just to leave a psychological effect on the citizens...
