Kasım Gülpınar, an AKP Central Decision and Administrative Board (MKYK) member and former AKP Şanlıurfa MP for the 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th terms, has resigned from his party to become the New Welfare Party (YRP) candidate for Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality. Gülpınar's candidacy was announced by New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan.
It is known that AKP MKYK member Kasım Gülpınar wanted to run for office in Şanlıurfa in the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024, and he resigned from his party after the incumbent mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül was nominated again.
Gülpınar, who resigned from his party and joined the New Welfare Party (YRP), has become the candidate for Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality.
ERBAKAN ANNOUNCED
Sharing the news of Gülpınar's candidacy on his social media account, YRP Chairman Fatih Erbakan stated the following:
