Koray Aydın, who lost to Müsavat Dervişoğlu at the İYİ Party congress, breaks his silence!
Koray Aydın, who lost the chairmanship race to Müsavat Dervişoğlu at the İYİ Party's 5th Extraordinary Congress, claimed that "all mechanisms were activated" and an "organized structure was at work" to ensure he lost the congress. Speaking about Mehmet Tolga Akalın's withdrawal from the race, Aydın said, "I knew there was a coordinated effort. In that regard, there is no merit to what is being said. I suggest you look at the 50-member GİK (General Administrative Board). It is no different from the previous lists. A study had been prepared in advance."
The İYİ Party, which had decided to enter the local elections 'freely and independently,' decided to hold a congress after failing to achieve the expected results on March 31.
At the congress where Meral Akşener announced she would not be a candidate, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Koray Aydın, Mehmet Tolga Akalın, and Günay Kodaz competed for the chairmanship.
Müsavat Dervişoğlu won the chairmanship race at the İYİ Party 5th Extraordinary Congress held on April 27.
Koray Aydın, who lost the election to Dervişoğlu, broke his silence after the congress.
Speaking to İsmail Saymaz from Sözcü, Aydın said, “Hands are reaching in from everywhere, we saw this. Other hands that do not leave the İYİ Party alone are reaching in here.” Stating that there is a large segment of people who think there was interference, Aydın said, “All mechanisms are in play, everyone worked. There was no innovation in the party. Whatever was there before continued in the same way. There is a rebellion movement from our party's base against this. We cannot stop it. I am saddened that it is like this, but... Most are resigning without us even knowing. The party did not profit from this; it came out at a loss. (When you say external interference, are you referring to the government or Akşener?) It is from everywhere, multi-faceted. It is seen that an organized structure is working well. I have noticed it from the beginning. But they are stronger than us,” he said.
Stating that he “does not think he lost in the hall,” Aydın added, “Because a mass acceptance was pulled down through certain ways and methods.”
STRIKING WORDS ON TOLGA AKALIN'S WITHDRAWAL
Saying that he “expected Tolga Akalın to withdraw,” Aydın said, “I knew there was a coordinated effort. In that regard, there is no merit to what is being said. I suggest you look at the 50-member GİK. It is no different from the previous lists. A study had been prepared in advance.”
WILL HE LEAVE THE İYİ PARTY?
Expressing that he is not thinking about anything regarding whether to stay in the party or not at the moment, Aydın said, “I am only trying to prevent my sadness for those who are leaving. There is nothing I can do. Friends are calling too. I will call them in groups and talk to them. I will listen to them first. I will try to stop this, but this time there is a very rapid collapse.”
