İYİ Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu harshly criticized the United States (US) decision to extend the arms embargo it applies to the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA). Zorlu stated that this situation paves the way for shifts in the balance of power against Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

In a statement made via his X account, Zorlu said, "Unfortunately, this erroneous decision was continued on September 27 and extended for another year until September 30, 2025. This is clearly an unjust step taken by the US to provide the Greek administration with the opportunity to arm itself."
SHIFT IN BALANCE IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN
Stating in his announcement that the extension of the duration of the bill for lifting the arms embargo from one year to five years is also concerning, Zorlu said, "All these efforts are a move to potentially shift the balance in the Eastern Mediterranean against Turkey and the TRNC."
