Latest situation in Istanbul: His vote share dropped from 46 percent to 40 percent! Murat Kurum or Ekrem İmamoğlu?

In Istanbul, one of the cities where the outcome of the critical elections is most anticipated, the race is expected to be between Murat Kurum and Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Speaking on Sözcü TV, political analyst İbrahim Uslu evaluated the upcoming local elections. Stating that Balıkesir could pass from the AKP to the CHP, Uslu said that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İmamoğlu was behind when the campaign period began but has recently taken the lead.

Stating that İmamoğlu has increased his vote share, Uslu noted that Murat Kurum's momentum has declined. Recalling the parties' vote shares in the May 14 general elections, Uslu said, "When the campaign started, İmamoğlu had 28 percent in his pocket, which is the vote the CHP received in the previous election. Murat Kurum, on the other hand, had 46 percent in his pocket."

Drawing attention to the latest research, Uslu continued as follows;

"Now, when we look at the research, İmamoğlu is somewhere in the 43-45 percent range, while Murat Kurum has stalled at 40 percent. This means Murat Kurum went down, and İmamoğlu went up. When you look at the performance of the candidates, İmamoğlu is ahead. With one month left until the election, the performance Murat Kurum desires has not yet spread to the base."
