Lottery held for independent IMM mayoral candidates

The election calendar announced by the Supreme Election Council continues to proceed.

At the Istanbul Courthouse, a lottery for independent IMM mayoral candidates was held with the participation of Ramazan Seçkin, President of the Istanbul 15th Criminal Court of First Instance and President of the Provincial Election Board, Özlem Aktaş, President of the Istanbul 1st Commercial Court and Board Member, and Yahya Gülşen, Provincial Election Board Director.

During the lottery, 12 of the 27 independent candidates who will participate in the election were present.

According to the results of the lottery, the order of the independent candidates on the ballot from 1 to 27 is as follows:

"Vedat Taylan Yıldız, Yüksel Özden, Adem Bayraktar, Memet Ali Aydoğmuş, Burak Emre Çetin, Mirhat Tekin Brusk, Ahmet Soytürk, Orhan Çebi, Merve Karataş, Güven Akıncı, Ahmet Birikmen, Yaşar Polat, Habip Aksu, İshak Akbay, Hülya Kavuzlu Karaman, Vedat Öztürk, Galip Menteşe, Cemal Tarancı, Polat Erdoğan, Fatma Ragibe Kanıkuru Loğoğlu, Hüseyin Durmaz, Sena Elest Akıncı, Uğur Etlik, Atakan Bozyayla, Bilen Akpınar, Ömer Karvan and Abdullah Arli."

Speaking after the lottery, candidate Vedat Öztürk said, "The idea of having our photos above our names on the ballots is shared by all of us. If political parties have logos, we would like to remind everyone that our faces are our logos. We will all apply together regarding this matter. Hopefully, it will result positively."
