Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan made assessments regarding the current agenda at a loyalty and commemoration program organized by his party in İzmir. Arguing that trust in justice, the economy, education, and public administration in Turkey has weakened, Arıkan said that problems cannot be solved merely by changing names.
Arıkan stated that Turkey is facing two fundamental problems, defining them as a "crisis of trust" and a "crisis of morality." He expressed that a moral, consistent, and accountable management approach is needed to restore social trust.
Trust is not built in a day. Trust is built by being true to one's word and by seeing people as more than just numbers or votes. Trust is built first with morality.
Stating that they view politics as "a matter of morality above all else," Arıkan argued that stronger oversight mechanisms should be established regarding the use of public resources, bribery, nepotism, and favoritism. Suggesting that the current order transforms people, Arıkan said, "The real issue is the order itself that corrupts people."
MANIFESTO TO BE ANNOUNCED IN NOVEMBER
In his speech, Arıkan announced that the Saadet Party will unveil a "political ethics manifesto" in November. He stated that the manifesto will include not only his party's principles but also an infrastructure aimed at establishing a moral foundation in Turkish politics.
Touching upon allegations of corruption in municipalities and public administration, Arıkan said that the same stance should be taken against bribery and violations of public rights, regardless of whether it is the government or the opposition. Stating that they place the principle of "morality and spirituality first" at the center, Arıkan expressed that if they come to power, they will base their approach on this in ministries and municipalities.
Saying that the Saadet Party pursues solution-oriented politics, Arıkan used the expression, "We are not a party of polemics; we are a party of solutions." Stating that his party is making preparations in the fields of economy and development, Arıkan reported that they aim to contribute 528 billion dollars to the national income and create 2.5 million jobs with 41 master projects covering 81 provinces and more than 100 satellite projects.
Arıkan also made a call to political parties with an emphasis on "New Generation Politics." Stating that Turkey needs a new beginning, Arıkan indicated that a new social contract should be established based on commonalities rather than differences.
