Major backlash against TRT Haber's post on İmamoğlu: 'TRT, once again, did not surprise'

TRT Haber published a statement containing detailed responses to criticisms directed at the indictment concerning the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB). While the post in question sparked public debate, the criticisms coming specifically from the Republican People's Party (CHP) took center stage.

CHP CALLS FOR IMPARTIALITY FROM TRT

CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut stated in a post on social media that TRT must act as a public broadcaster. Regarding the matter, Bulut remarked, "The so-called 'public broadcaster' TRT Haber, which is funded by everyone's taxes and is supposed to be impartial, once again did not surprise." Bulut stated that instead of practicing factual and impartial journalism, TRT has taken on the role of defending a politically motivated smear campaign.

DEMAND FOR LIVE BROADCAST

On the second day of the trial, which began 355 days after the arrest of presidential candidate and İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Aykut Erdoğdu's remarks regarding "arrest without concrete evidence" drew attention.

Burhanettin Bulut called for the trial to be broadcast live on TRT screens in an impartial manner so that the entire public can see the truth. Bulut further stated, "If you are so sure, broadcast the trial live; let the nation see with its own eyes who is telling the truth and who is distorting the facts."
