The tension that began at the Republican People's Party (CHP) headquarters in Ankara in the morning hours in line with an eviction decision escalated further with the intervention of police teams. It was reported that riot police entered the building, broke down doors, and reached the management floor, and that pepper spray was used during the intervention. Many party members were affected by the gas in the incident.

SUPPORT FOR ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S MARCH

Following the police intervention, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel left the headquarters and began a march to the Parliament. During this march, it was observed that citizens supported him by honking their car horns, and that tension between party members and security forces rose from time to time. When Özel reached the Parliament, he was welcomed by deputies with applause.

MANSUR YAVAŞ'S REACTION TO POLICE INTERVENTION

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş met with Özgür Özel, whom he visited at his office in the Parliament. Making statements to the press after the visit, Yavaş expressed his discomfort with the police intervention that took place with the following words:

"It is wrong for the police to enter the party in this manner. Normally, these are things that can be solved by talking. It was not pleasant for the police to enter a hundred-year-old party like this."

Yavaş also added, "The police are also our own flesh and blood. We should not pit people against each other like this. Furthermore, party members should not have been pitted against each other either."

NO MEETING WITH KILIÇDAROĞLU

Following the meeting, when asked by journalists, "Have you had any contact with Kemal Bey or his team?", Mansur Yavaş replied, "No."
