Mansur Yavaş to recount his 7 years: Announced they will be held accountable to the public
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that they will be held accountable to the public at the Arena in March.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş said, "We are surrounded by a ring of fire from both inside and outside. Unfortunately, we do not know what awaits us in the coming days. But as long as we remain united and together, we are in a position to collectively repel all attacks that may come against us and our country... On March 28 or 29, God willing, we will gather at the Arena and I want to give an account to the people of Ankara and Mamak regarding what we have done and what we have not done over the past seven years; an account of all our achievements and shortcomings. On that day, we will also provide explanations regarding the status of the metro, the projects to be carried out in Mamak, and everything that has been done so far," he said.
ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş attended the iftar dinner organized by the ABB at the Happy Family Life Center.
The iftar was attended by Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin, CHP Party Assembly (PM) Member Volkan Memduh Gültekin, CHP Ankara Deputies Aliye Timisi Ersever and Gamze Şengel Taşcıer, District President Ali Rıza Erdek, and nearly two thousand citizens.
Yavaş spoke there as follows:
"There is truly an extraordinary crowd. It means these crowds are not enough for us. I am experiencing the happiness of sharing the same table with you and saying 'amen' at the same time. Because Ramadan is a time when we always come together, when everyone eliminates the evils within themselves, and when feelings of goodness and sharing flourish. Since 2019, we have been spending Ramadan together with enthusiasm through solidarity campaigns for seven years, without distinguishing between rich and poor, and by meeting the needs of those in need, and God willing, we will continue to do so without leaving anyone hungry."
"A VERY BEAUTIFUL CROWD HAS GATHERED HERE TODAY"
After all, municipalism must also be about being a municipality that appears right in front of someone when they are in need, when they look up, and when they ask, 'Who is by my side?' Also, there was bad luck after 2019; there was a pandemic. The pandemic revealed both our shortcomings and our feelings of solidarity. We carry out our campaigns every year with these feelings. We conduct solidarity campaigns. We provide all the support we can so that everyone can spend Ramadan in peace and perform their worship like everyone else. A very beautiful crowd has gathered here today. You have honored our invitation and come. I am truly very happy. There are people outside as well. As you can see, the upper floor and the corridors are all full. It means hearts are connected. I thank you all again for your presence. May God not break our unity and togetherness.
As you know, we are surrounded by a ring of fire from both inside and outside. Unfortunately, we do not know what awaits us in the coming days. But as long as we remain united and together, we are in a position to collectively repel all attacks that may come against us and our country. It is our religious days and our national days that bring us together as one; alongside our national days, there are our national holidays. We celebrate these together. I pray to God that, God willing, He allows us to reach the holiday together in inner happiness and peace of mind, with our families. And I hope we will continue to come together on good days from now on. We want to experience the same enthusiasm always.
"ON MARCH 28 OR 29, WE WILL GIVE AN ACCOUNT TO THE PEOPLE OF ANKARA REGARDING WHAT WE HAVE DONE AND WHAT WE HAVE NOT DONE OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS"
At the end of March, it will probably be on the 28th, but there is a possibility it could be on the 29th. On March 28 or 29, God willing, we will gather at the Arena and I want to give an account to the people of Ankara, and hopefully to the people of Mamak if you honor us with your presence, regarding what we have done and what we have not done over the past seven years; an account of all our achievements and shortcomings. On that day, we will also provide explanations regarding the status of the metro, the projects to be carried out in Mamak, and everything that has been done so far. We will reconcile with you. For this reason, I hope to see you at the Arena, and I offer you all my love and respect. Be well. Be one, be great, be alive."
Following his speech, Yavaş also took photos with the citizens.
